NerdCon ’25 is officially set for Saturday, 2nd August 2025, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest celebration of geek, gamer, and creative culture Ghana has ever seen. This year’s edition brings together powerful collaborations, immersive experiences, and a packed program for fans of anime, cosplay, gaming, and digital art.
From console tournaments to panel discussions, artistic showcases, and interactive media sessions—this one-day expo will light up Accra with color, creativity, and community.
Event Venue
This year’s event will take place at the Goethe-Institut in Cantonments, Accra—officially announced as the host sponsor of Nerd Con Expo 25. Known for championing cultural exchange and innovation, the Goethe-Institut offers a vibrant space perfect for this multifaceted convention.
Gamathon by Africacomicade Joins Nerd Con
In a landmark collaboration, Gamathon by Africacomicade will feature prominently at NerdCon. As Africa’s premier convention for video games, animation, XR, and interactive media, Gamathon provides a platform for African digital creatives to connect, showcase, and thrive.

- Cosplay Contests & Showcases: Come in costume or simply enjoy the artistry as Ghana’s top cosplayers take the stage. With cash prizes, audience votes, and guest judges, the competition is going to be fierce—and fabulous!
- Gaming Tournaments & Freeplay Zones: From retro titles to next-gen consoles, come test your skills or try something new. Expect matchups in fighting games, FPS battles, and even mobile gaming showdowns.
- Panels & Fan Talks: Meet content creators, artists, voice actors, and thought leaders who are shaping Ghana’s nerd culture. Learn, laugh, and get inspired.
- Merch, Collectibles & Artist Alley: Support local creators and shop for anime figures, comics, accessories, fan art, and one-of-a-kind collectibles.
- Gamathon by Africa Comicade: In collaboration with NerdCon, Gamathon brings a powerful game development and e-sports experience to the venue. Expect workshops, game showcases, and high-stakes competitions.
Together, NerdCon and Gamathon aim to amplify African talent in gaming and creative technology.
Featured Activity: Sip & Paint with Lady Sai
This year introduces a brand new interactive highlight — Sip & Paint sessions hosted by Lady Sai (and surprise guest artists). Running from 11 AM to 8 PM, this hands-on art experience will allow attendees to explore creativity in a laid-back setting.
