Sony Interactive Entertainment Plans to enter the mobile market with a marvelous new acquisition

Currently developing an unannounced “AAA mobile live service action game.”

Sony Interactive Entertainment has entered into an agreement to acquire Berlin-based developer Savage Game Studios under its newly created PlayStation Studios Mobile Division, which will operate independently from its console development and focus on “innovative, on-the-go experiences” based on new and existing PlayStation franchises, the company announced.

Savage Game Studios was founded in June 2020 by a team with many years of experience in developing “some of the most popular mobile games enjoyed by players around the world.” The studio is already working on an unannounced “AAA mobile live service action game.”

Thanks, Hermen, and hello everyone in the PlayStation community!
Established in 2020 and led by myself and fellow co-founders Nadjim Adjir and Michael McManus, Savage Game Studios was born of our many years of mobile game development experience spanning a number of massively successful global intellectual property. Our guiding vision was a creative space where experimentation and taking risks weren’t warily avoided, but rather eagerly embraced. We’ve all worked at big studios and while we respect the advantages of ample resources, we wanted to stay small and nimble so we could call our own shots.
“So why then,” you may be thinking to yourself, “would you join PlayStation Studios?” We made this deal because we believe that PlayStation Studios’ leadership respects our vision for how we can best operate and succeed, and because they too are not afraid to take chances. Publisher Netflix and South Korean developer Action Square have announced Kingdom: The Blood, a single and multiplayer action RPG based on the Netflix series Kingdom for PC, iOS, and Android. A release date was not announced.

Kingdom: The Blood is a single and multiplayer action RPG.
Staying true to the beloved Netflix series, Kingdom: The Blood recreates characters, zombies and vicious action from the show in high-quality 3D graphics. Korean culture is treated with the utmost care in both gameplay and aesthetic. Motion capture was recorded using a professional Korean sword dancer to perfectly replicate deadly Korean-style combat. Players will show off their own personality with character creation and customization. The game takes you through beautiful sceneries of Korean palaces as well as zombie-infested city of Hanyang. Diverse costume options, including Hanbok (Korean traditional clothing), feature deep colors and textures representative of 16th century Korea.
Kingdom: The Blood will include a story mode that follows the Netflix drama. Game modes include Conquest Mode, a sequence of diverse five-minute battles, in addition to epic multi-boss battles and intense player-versus-player combat. The K-zombie RPG will launch on mobile and PC for global audiences.

Development (Boardgame) – The main part of the game in which players will develop their character over 50 days (50 turns) of summer camp on Jabberwock Island. Roll a die to determine how many spaces to move. An event will be triggered depending on which square the character lands on. Each character has various stats, including level. Character stats improve by leveling up, stopping on a Growth Square, or interacting with other characters on Event Squares. Bosses placed by Monokuma and monster battles triggered by Battle Squares will impede the player’s path along the way. Talent Squares grant Talent Fragments, which grant characters new skills. Players will also need to acquire weapons and armor at shops and treasure chests as well as utilize cards featuring useful effects to their advantage.
Battle – A Battle Mode can be played separately from the Battle Squares found in the boardgame. Develop characters and form a party of up to four members and take on the 200-floor Tower of Despair where Monokuma-type monsters await. In the Tower of Despair, enemies attack in waves, and the player is rewarded with Monokuma Medals upon victory. Players need to increase their characters’ levels while learning skills and gearing up their characters in order to emerge victorious.
School Store – In the School Store, players can spend Monokuma Medals and Monocoins they’ve obtained in battle to gain new characters and support items using the MonoMono Machine. Each character has different rarities, and the higher the rarity, the faster they will grow in Development mode.

Epic Games has announced the launch of Fortnite Zero Build, a no-build battle royale game mode. Previously only available as a limited-time mode, the model will now be permanent.

Here is an overview of Zero Build mode, via Epic Games:

Zero Build mode is a pure test of weapon, item, and traversal ability. Zero Build can be found in the Discover page as Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads playlists. (Access the Discover page by clicking on the “CHANGE” button above “PLAY!” in the Lobby.)
Without building, all players have the recharging Overshield as your first line of defense in Zero Build. Zip up Ascenders to access Blimps or use Mantling to get the high-ground over your opponents. Don’t forget to Sprint between cover on your way to a Victory Royale!
