Leti Arts Leads Africa into the Green Games Era
Leti Arts, the award-winning Ghanaian game development studio known for pioneering African digital storytelling, has made global headlines as the first African studio to be featured in the prestigious Green Games Showcase at this year’s Summer Game Fest 2025.

The studio’s flagship mobile game, SWEAVE, has joined PlanetPlay’s Green Games Activation, a groundbreaking initiative that fuses gaming with climate action. Starting June 7, every SWEAVE download and in-game interaction will contribute directly to the planting of at least 50,000 trees as part of the Hongera Project in Kenya, a verified reforestation effort focused on restoring biodiversity and supporting rural communities.
“With SWEAVE, we’re not just telling African stories, we’re taking African leadership global,” said Eyram Tawia, CEO and Co-Founder of Leti Arts. “We’re proud to be at the forefront of green gaming, proving that entertainment from the continent can be culturally rich and environmentally impactful.”
A Campaign Rooted in Action: #LetiGoesGreen

In celebration of this milestone, Leti Arts has launched a month-long campaign titled #LetiGoesGreen, which runs throughout June. The campaign is a rallying call for gamers and eco-conscious supporters to take part in environmental restoration through gameplay. Key features include:
- A SWEAVE gameplay update where player progress equals real-world tree planting.
- A strategic alliance with PlanetPlay and the Hongera Project.
- Influencer-led takeovers, TV and radio features, and wide-ranging social media activations across Africa and beyond.
Additionally, the campaign extends its impact globally by supporting reforestation efforts in Timor-Leste through Leti’s nonprofit partner WithOneSeed.
“This is more than a campaign, it’s a call to action,” said Rhea Loucas, CEO of PlanetPlay. “By highlighting Leti Arts and other visionary studios, we’re showing the world that gaming can be a catalyst for global change, especially when it starts from the heart of Africa.”
Global Recognition and Inclusion

Leti Arts joins a distinguished lineup of international studios participating in the Green Games Showcase, including:
- Amazon Games
- Team17
- Skybound Games
- Trevor Noah’s Day Zero Games
This inclusion firmly positions Leti Arts as a leading voice in the global gaming conversation and a champion of eco-conscious game development from Africa.
