The free-to-play Halo Infinite Multiplayer beta is now available for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Microsoft Store and Steam, publisher Microsoft and developer 343 Industries announced.

“As we prepare for a significant increase in the number of players jumping into Halo Infinite on launch day, December 8, we want to ensure all our systems are good-to-go,” said Halo Infinite creative lead Joseph Staten in a news post. “While you may experience some bumps and bugs during this beta period, it does mark the official start of Halo Infinite Season 1, with all day-one maps and modes enabled as well as the full Season 1 Battle Pass. This means all the Battle Pass and customization items you earn or purchase during the beta will stay with you after December 8.”

Season 1 of Halo Infinite Multiplayer will run from today until May 2022. While a new Season is planned for every three months, Season 1 will run for an extended period to ensure Season 2 meets 343 Industries’ quality standards.

The extension of Season 1 will also include additional events, customization items, and other content. Starting today, users who log in to Halo Infinite will unlock a free collection of Halo series 20th anniversary-themed cosmetics. Following this free rewards period, the start of the Season 1 opening event, “Fracture: Tenrai,” will begin on November 23, marking the first of multiple opportunities to earn the Season’s samurai-themed armour pieces and other customization items.

More details about the Season 1 event calendar, as well as plans for Season 2, campaign cooperative play, and Forge release plans, will be announced in January 2022.

The paid Halo Infinite Campaign will launch on December 8.
