The new “Horde Mode XL” is exclusive to new consoles and PC.
The free “Horde Mode XL” upgrade and World War Z: Aftermath will be available at launch on January 24 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, according to publisher and developer Saber Interactive.
Owners of World War Z: Aftermath on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade for free to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series version.
Versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series will have 4K resolution and 60 frames per second gameplay.
The same principles apply to “Horde Mode XL,” which will only be accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC. However, in addition to the typical waves of adversaries, there will also be an extra “XL” wave with more than 1,000 zombies.
On January 24, all versions of the game will also get a free update that adds mutators to the common “Horde Mode Z” game mode in addition to new weapons and an updated system for weapon advancement.
