Super Smash Bros. Ultimate data mining uncovers possible DLC character code names

The next downloadable content character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may have been uncovered thanks to data mining. Twitter user @jam1garner shared the discovery made by data miner @KuroganerHammer and others.

The following three parameters presumed to be code names for future fighters were discovered:

  • fighter_kind_jack
  • fighter_kind_brave
  • fighter_kind_packu (Pirahna Plant, as it is called “Packun Flower” in Japanese)

Furthermore, @_Mizumi shared run speeds for the three fighters:

  • fighter_kind_jack – 2.21
  • fighter_kind_brave – 1.74
  • fighter_kind_packu – 1.72

For comparison’s sake, Sonic has a maximum speed of 3.85 and Incineroar has a maximum speed of 1.18.

While “packu” is more than likely the February-due Pirahna Plant, “jack” and “brave” are up in the air. “Jack” could be the code name for the December-announced Joker from Persona 5—perhaps a reference to the Shin Megami Tensei / Persona series’ Jack Frost. “Brave,” on the other hand, could be a translation of the Japanese word “Yuusha,” which is the name of the Hero class in Dragon Quest titles. At this point, we can only speculate.
