Capcom has dropped the official trailer, specifics, and snapshots for Street Fighter 6’s newest DLC character, Ed, set to debut on February 27. Ed will be accessible to Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Year 1 Character Pass holders.

He marks the 21st playable character, joining the roster after last year’s additions of Rashid and A.K.I. Expect to face this pugilistic powerhouse across all game modes: World Tour, Fighting Ground, and Battle Hub.

For a limited time, the “Ed Arrives!” Fighting Pass is up for grabs, offering boxing-themed gear to amp up your fight game.

Accompanying his arrival is the “Ruined Lab” stage, depicting the aftermath of Shadaloo’s collapse. Owners of the Year 1 Ultimate Pass and Ultimate Edition will snag this stage automatically.

In addition to his debut, players can anticipate several quality-of-life updates, including customizable button displays on PC and an Extra Lighting feature in Photo Mode.

Introduced in Street Fighter V, Ed broke free from M. Bison’s grasp to establish Neo Shadaloo. In Street Fighter 6, all his attacks are now punches, emphasizing his revamped fighting style. Ed retains his simplified controls, with expanded inputs for Classic Controls.

Prepare for Ed’s signature moves, including:

  • Psycho Flicker: A versatile flicker jab that can be directed in three ways, useful for controlling space. Holding the button triggers Psycho Snatcher, pulling opponents in with psycho-powered tendrils.
  • Psycho Blitz: Unleashes a flurry of punches infused with Psycho Power.
  • Psycho Storm: A Level 1 Super Art featuring a barrage of high-speed flicker jabs.
  • Psycho Cannon: His Level 2 Super Art generates a multi-hitting ball of psycho power.
  • Psycho Chamber: His Level 3 Super Art restrains opponents, turning them into his punching bag for Neo Shadaloo’s cause.

Excitement continues with Capcom Cup X on the horizon! Until February 14, players can visit the in-game Battle Hub, adorned with Capcom Cup X festivities, to predict the next champion. Predict correctly for a chance to win an exclusive Outfit 1 colour for the champion’s character.

The anticipation builds with Akuma’s imminent release slated for Spring. More updates are on the horizon later this year.

Street Fighter 6 is currently accessible on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
