PlayStation 5 is backwards compatible with “99 percent” of the PlayStation 4 library, Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan told Washington Post.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to utilize backward compatibility on day one of the console’s launch via the PlayStation Plus Collection, which includes access to 18 of PlayStation 4’s most critically-acclaimed titles.
PlayStation 5 will launch on November 12 in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea, and November 19 in the rest of the world including Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia, and South Africa.
