Four days of competition, skills, and Ghana-made games at AICC.
Ghana’s National ICT Week is adding a competitive spark to its tech agenda: an Esports Games Showdown set for the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th August, 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. daily. Led by the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), the week advances the theme “Ghana as Africa’s Digital Trade Hub – Innovation, Policy, and Partnerships for the Future.”
What to expect on the esports track
Organisers have teased a four-day slate that blends competition with skills-building and Ghana-made creativity:
- Ultimate FC25 Tourney — the headline football bracket on console.
- Mobile Games Day (Made in Ghana) — a spotlight on local titles, studios, and mobile-first players.
- eSkills Day — hands-on learning to level up employability and creator skills.
- GEL Midweek Showdown — Ghana Esports League action to anchor the midweek hype.
The esports programme runs within the larger ICT Week schedule hosted by NITA, placing gaming at the intersection of digital skills, industry, and youth opportunity.
Why it matters
National ICT Week convenes government, industry, and innovators to map Ghana’s digital path.
