Who knew chasing cedis could be this much fun?

If there’s one thing Ghanaian game developers never lack, it’s creativity — and the GameDev Ghana 1 Week Jam proved exactly that.
After a week of sleepless nights, wild ideas, and relentless debugging, six unique games were born — all centered around one common theme: the Cedi.
Yes, Ghana’s own currency took center stage this time, inspiring stories about money, greed, ambition, and hustle. From comical heists to high-stakes battles, developers turned something as everyday as cash into digital adventures filled with personality, humor, and Ghanaian flair.
The Theme: “Cedi”
When the theme dropped, the community immediately went into brainstorming mode. How do you turn the cedi a symbol of value, economy, and survival into a playable concept?
Some went literal, designing games where players chase or protect cedis. Others explored deeper meanings: greed, corruption, and ambition. The result was a creative explosion of interpretations that showed just how versatile Ghana’s game dev community can be.
The Winners Are In
After the long wait and an intense voting process, the results finally arrived and here are your champions:
🏆 1st Place – CEDI HEIST
The game that stole the spotlight (and plenty of laughs). Blending stealth and wit, Cedi Heist let players pull off daring money grabs with clever execution and local flavor.

🥈 2nd Place – KUDI KOMBAT
A fierce, fast-paced fighting game where players battled it out as the cedis against over currency literally. It’s wild, funny, and full of energy, capturing the competitive spirit of the jam perfectly.

🥉 3rd Place – CEDI INSPECTER
Keeping the books balanced never looked so good. Cedi Inspecter brought a smart, investigative twist to the theme — tracking money, finding flaws, and finding fakes as a teller.
