FC 25 looking to introduce new features and getting on the AI train
Electronic Arts has announced the release date for EA Sports FC 25, which will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 27. Players who opt for the Ultimate Edition can start playing a week early on September 20. Pre-orders are now open.
Nick Wlodyka, EA Sports FC’s senior vice president and general manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to a fan-first future in a press release. “With EA Sports FC 25, we’re redefining what’s possible on the pitch with FC IQ, using AI and real-world data to modernize player tactics and complement the power of HyperMotionV and PlayStyles,” Wlodyka stated. He also highlighted the introduction of Rush, a new social gaming experience, and the addition of women’s football into Career Mode.
Game Overview
EA Sports FC continues to expand as the world’s premier football platform with new innovations, including Rush and FC IQ, promising the most social and authentic football experience yet. The debut trailer features cover star Jude Bellingham, showcasing his football skills through the Frostbite Engine.
Rush Mode
Rush introduces a new five-versus-five gameplay mode that maintains the core controls and mechanics of traditional 11-versus-11 football. Available in Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick-Off modes, Rush allows groups of four friends to team up with an AI-controlled goalkeeper. In Manager Career mode, Rush will feature fast-paced Youth Academy development and new five-versus-five tournaments throughout the season.
FC IQ and Tactical Overhaul
FC IQ revamps tactical foundations in 11-versus-11 matches, offering greater strategic control. The new AI model, influenced by real-world data from top football teams, enhances player tactics with new Player Roles. Team tactics and collective movement have been updated to reflect real-world styles of play, providing more variation in each match.
Career Mode Enhancements
Career Mode now includes Live Start Points, allowing players to jump into real-world storylines as they unfold, such as taking over a club after mid-season transfers or managerial changes. For the first time, women’s football is included in Career Mode, achieving parity with men’s football across all game modes and supporting EA Sports FC’s commitment to growing the women’s game.
Pre-Order and EA Play Member Benefits
Fans who pre-order the Ultimate Edition by August 20 will receive exclusive player benefits, including limited-time historic player items for their Football Ultimate Team squads in both EA Sports FC 24 (sold separately) and EA Sports FC 25.
EA Play members can access a 10-hour early trial of EA Sports FC 25 starting September 20. Members also receive monthly Football Ultimate Team Draft Tokens, seasonal Club Rewards, a 10 percent discount on FC Points, and more.
