Red Hook Studios has unveiled the upcoming release of Darkest Dungeon II for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, slated to launch on July 15th. Priced at $39.99, the game will also offer a bundled version including the downloadable content “The Binding Blade” for $44.99. Pre-orders are currently live on the PlayStation Store.
Originally launched on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in Early Access on October 26, 2021, followed by a full release on May 8, 2023, Darkest Dungeon II brings its turn-based roguelike RPG experience to console players.
Tyler Sigman, the design director at Red Hook Studios, expressed the team’s excitement about bringing the game to PlayStation platforms, highlighting the integration of features tailored for the DualSense Controller. Players can expect immersive touches such as feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death’s door or sensing the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels.
Darkest Dungeon II unfolds as a harrowing road trip through a decaying landscape, where players assemble a party and equip their stagecoach for a perilous journey to avert the apocalypse. Each expedition is a unique experience, with runs lasting from 30 minutes to several hours, offering emergent stories and resources to enhance subsequent journeys, even in the face of failure.
