Minecraft Dungeons cracks Top Ten UK boxed charts
It’s an identical top two in the UK physical retail charts this week, with Marvel’s Avengers retaining its No.1 position despite a 60% drop in sales week-on-week.
Meanwhile, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is still at No.2 after a 54% drop in sales. Tony Hawk’s broke UK franchise records last week as the fastest-selling game in the series’ 21-year history.
However, there are some new games in the charts… sort-of. A remaster of 2012’s Kingdoms of Amalur makes No.4. The original landed at No.1 back in February 2012, and was published by EA. This new ‘Re-Reckoning’ edition is handled by THQ Nordic, and it has sold about a quarter of the original. However, the data does not include digital, so it’s likely the real sales are quite close. PS4 is the dominant platform for the game, representing 74% of the game’s first week sales.
Also new to the physical charts is Minecraft Dungeons, which launched on digital stores back in May. Microsoft’s dungeon crawler spin-off arrives at No.6 and sold best on Nintendo Switch, with Nintendo’s platform representing 72% of the sales, followed by PS4 with 16%.
Last week’s No.3 game, NBA 2K21, drops down to No.8 after a 61% drop in sales week-on-week.
